For Immediate Release

Dallas, TX- February 21, 2001- Long Range Systems, Inc. has developed new battery-operated, vibration-only and numeric pagers. Features include wireless programmability, antitheft and automatic shut-off. These new features, exclusive to Long Range Systems, make the new pagers the most advanced on the market.

Wireless programmability allows restaurants to program the pager number from the transmitter. In the past, pagers were programmed with a pager number during manufacturing. The only way to change the number assigned to the pager was to ship it back to the manufacturer. Now restaurants have the flexibility of easily altering pager numbers to fit their needs. "We are excited about this feature because never before have restaurants been able to program their own pagers," comments Russell Blink, Vice President of Engineering.

Startup costs are reduced because restaurants only need to purchase enough pagers for the maximum amount of servers on the floor at one time. They can easily reprogram the pagers after each shift. In addition, with wireless programmability manufacturing is more efficient and less costly. These savings in manufacturing are passed on to the customer with a superior product at a lower cost.

The antitheft feature is designed to reduce pager loss. When pagers are out of range they will start beeping until they are returned. Until now, antitheft has only been available in rechargeable pagers. The new pagers from LRS are the only battery-operated pagers on the market with this feature. Antitheft significantly reduces the cost of ownership.

Automatic shut-off allows the user to easily turn off all pagers from the transmitter. This eliminates having to go through and shut-off each pager by hand. Consequently, pagers are not accidentally left on and dead for the next day. Automatic shut-off can increase battery life up to 33%, contributing to a lower cost of ownership.

The pagers also have group paging capabilities. Within a paging system up to 100 groups can be programmed. Each pager can "belong" to up to five groups. This allows restaurants to page groups such as all of the managers, all the kitchen staff, or all the servers. It is also an easy way to remind a group of a meeting or time to do a side duty.

The numeric pagers are programmed with 44 different fixed messages. These messages appear as text and will let you know the specific reason for your page. With the new upgraded pagers, users will also enjoy longer range than rechargeable pagers.
