For Immediate Release
Dallas, TX- February 21, 2001- The
Informant STS1000, will debut this May. Research shows that repeat customers account for up to 70% of
restaurant business. To allow restaurants to insure that they are maximizing repeat business and satisfying
customers, Long Range Systems has developed The Informant.
The Informant is a device that will allow restaurants to electronically survey customers at the end of
their meal. Unlike eight-hundred numbers and secret shoppers, restaurants will be provided with real time
data that determines what they are doing right and what needs improvement. "Our advanced technology allows
simple point and click access to your customer information; it’s never been easier to create your own
surveys and instantly retrieve results," comments Russell Blink, Vice President of Engineering.
Long Range Systems uses its patented stack-charging system for charging, information exchange between the
host computer and the survey trays, and storage. Unlike other systems, the stack charging method is space
saving and easy to use. The trays have a self-aligning mechanism that removes any hassles when taking them
to or from the base.
The Informant is equipped with a programmable promotional feature to randomly select winners for taking the
survey. This feature is designed to increase survey participation and bring customers back. With this
feature, even repeat customers will want to complete the survey on each visit. In addition, The Informant
is the only survey system on the market that has a built in calculator for figuring tips and split
checks.
Presented with the check, this easy to use device is actually a tip tray with the survey device built in.
When guests enter an unsatisfactory response, the Informant will page the manager with the table number and
area of dissatisfaction. Problems can be corrected before the customer leaves the restaurant.
Each tray can store up to 300 surveys at a time before being downloaded to the simple windows-based
programming software. The information can be downloaded at anytime to a personal computer, internet site or
corporate headquarters from its base unit, which uses Long Range System’s patented stackable charging
design. Likewise, surveys can be changed at anytime and can be downloaded from corporate headquarters.
Reports can be run daily or even at the end of each shift to evaluate individual servers or the restaurant
as a whole.
Long Range Systems founded in 1993 in Dallas, Texas, prides itself on being a pioneer in on-site wireless
solutions. For more information call 01782 537000 or visit the USA Dallas website at www.pager.net.
